INFLEX PROJECT

The purpose of this project INFLEX is to increase the knowledge of relationships between, and skills and tools (software and hardware) to measure and optimize, the relevant factors affecting quality changes across the entire fruit export supply chain (from production to export destination) in order to minimize food losses and increase the consumer perception, thereby increasing the value and market of Belgian fruit. INFLEX targets to use the new knowledge to strive for innovations in - monitoring of the different steps in the supply chain, including storage and transport, - predictive management of the supply chain from orchard to destination, - optimal export product selection, - a novel method for integral and flexible conditioning of fruit during storage and transport, - model-based design tools for storage and transport technologies. INFLEX is collabrative project of VIL, KU Leuven, VCBT, Optiflux, BelOrta and Bel'Export, with financial support of Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (ICON HBC.2022.0677).
