Inretio is a medical device start-up focused on improving the treatment of ischemic strokes caused by a clot blocking blood flow to the brain. Over 175,000 ischemic stroke patients inn the US undergo mechanical thrombectomy procedures every year. Unfortunately, currently used devices have limited success rates and high rates of mortality and disability. Inretio is developing a new concept for clot-retrieving devices that aims to prevent complications more effectively during thrombectomy procedures, with the goal of improving outcomes for stroke patients.
The PREVA clot retriever is The 1st and only protective clot retriever using a distal basket. PREVA is the only clot retrieval device that can access distally to the clot. The device protects the brain during the mechanical thrombectomy procedure from sub-clots by “ensnaring“ the clot and encapsulating it using our PREVA Basket. The PREVA basket allows the complete removal of the clot and its fragments to ensure revascularization of the brain tissue.
