Integrated Design Cubed—IDCUBED—brings together experts in architecture, fabrication, systems design, and engineering to design, manufacture, and build affordable, sustainable, high-quality, modular mass timber buildings at scale to address the dual crises of our time: climate change and housing scarcity. IDCUBED is a US-based company founded in 2022 by architects Peter Rose of Peter Rose Partners and Andreas Krawczyk of NKBAK, Justin Cook of the RISD Center for Complexity, and Christian Kaufmann of Kaufmann Bausysteme GmbH, as a manufacturing partner. IDCUBED practices a radically efficient and highly precise process of building-making with a dramatic reduction in the number of components (80% fewer parts compared to conventional modular construction), and an enormous reduction in labor and construction time. IDCUBED is applying this method to design high-quality, low-cost buildings, including housing, workforce housing, schools, and offices at scale.
