INTERHEAT project

The project, InterHeat, aims at developing and demonstrating two high-temperature heat pump systems at different integration levels, which enables efficient use of resources as well as analysing and comparing both solutions from a socioeconomic perspective, through simultaneous development and demonstration. The project activities comprise various research, development, and demonstration activities, while special emphasis is placed on the technology development and the integration on different levels. This includes the development and demonstration of the two heat pump systems. As a basis for the technical design and manufacturing, standardized concepts for both integration levels are developed, which ensures efficient integration in the processes at reduced engineering effort for future applications. The project will consolidate the role of the Danish industry and research institutes in the field of high-temperature heat pump systems and thereby contribute to a considerable increase in turnover and employment in Denmark. The technical developments are considered as a key-technology for enabling decarbonization of industrial process heating and facilitating sector integration and do thereby directly contribute to reaching the ambitious Danish climate targets. The project consortium includes a variety of Danish and international partners, which are among the leading experts within their field. The partners consist of Danish Technological Institute, Verdo Energy Systems, Multi Køl og Energi, Svenska Rotor Maskiner, Frascold, Carel Nordic, Energy Solution, DIN Forsyning, Danish District Heating and Aalborg University.
