As the Department’s lead on international energy issues, the Office of International Affairs is primarily responsible for setting international energy policy for the Department and leading all bilateral and multilateral energy collaborations -- including G7, G20, APEC -- with DOE senior leadership and its 17 national labs. The office is also responsible for protecting critical U.S. industries and technological innovation by tracking and investigating foreign investment in U.S. energy companies and the National Labs.
Throughout all its work, the Office seeks to leverage American innovation and collaboration with partners to create a vibrant global innovation ecosystem and enhance global energy security through diversification, resilience, and access.
