ISG was founded as a performance management and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) firm. Comprising a diverse team of professionals, ISG continues its focus on program and organizational effectiveness - maintaining a dedicated practice that helps organizations assess their performance, develop their organizational strategy and streamline their programming. As a result, ISG was the first private-sector organization to be accepted for membership with ALNAP (i.e. the Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action founded by the Oversees Development Institute).
ISG’s breadth of work spans short-term to multi-year programming and is related to funding from USAID, the United States Department of State, the US Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), UNDP, UNICEF, UNDP, OCHA, UNOPS, UN WOMEN, UNSECWA, UNHCR, UNIDO, ILO, the World Bank, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), AusAID, Club de Madrid, the European Commission, the United Nations Democracy Fund and the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF).
