InterVals was founded in 2011 to give students more opportunities to sing and be a part of a group that is what they shape it to be. The music we perform is chosen and arranged by our own members, and above all else we pride ourselves on being a family.
All members are able to foster not only their vocal skills, but also many other skills that they will carry with them moving forward from the group. Members arrange all of the pieces that we sing, utilizing Musescore to facilitate their music theory skills, while they must collaborate, accept and work with feedback to improve, and independently work to meet deadlines. There are several opportunities for leadership throughout the year, including positions on the board (President, Business Manager, Media Manager, and Music Director) and sub-positions including Lead Choreographer and the Decoration Committee. Communication and working well in a team is a must in this group.
