The Institute of Production Management and Technology (IPMT) researches fundamental production problems and develops models, methods and procedures for industrial practice. In addition to experimental and model-based research, it offers consulting and independent process validation. Both areas of the institute work together closely. Production management, headed by Prof. Lödding, deals in particular with the organisation and information technology of production processes. Production technology, headed by Prof. Dege, develops innovative methods and instruments for processing modern industrial materials.
