The International Plant Sterols and Stanols Association (IPSSA) is made up of leading international companies who are working together to educate the public about the benefits of integrating plant sterols and stanols, collectively referred to as phytosterols, into their daily diet to reduce blood LDL-cholesterol. We believe consumers should be empowered to make informed decisions about the factors that contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Our aim is to: - Raise awareness of the risk that high blood LDL-cholesterol carries for developing cardiovascular disease (CVD) - Raise awareness of the importance of lowering blood LDL-cholesterol as a key modifiable CVD risk factor - Provide information on how daily intake of plant sterols and stanols can support heart health
