Established in 2015, the Institute for Reproductive Health & Rights is a not-for-profit professional institution operating as a social enterprise committed to promoting the reproductive & sexual well-being of all Sudanese people, particularly to women, girls, youth and minorities.
Our work rests on a deep understanding of Sudanese history and location as an African nation strongly influenced by the Arabic language with a rich diversity of beliefs, cultures and lifestyles. We emphasize the reproductive and sexual health and rights (SRHR) of women and girls as they carry the highest burden and reproduction risks and are most affected by health systems, laws, policies and social norms. We also believe that all members of society are affected by SRHR which must become an issue of public policy.
Our focus on youth acknowledges their special SRHR needs and that 60% of the Sudanese population is under 25 years of age.
