On top of this, mobile payments are quickly devouring market share from both cash and card. It is only a matter of time before mobile payments become mainstream and nowhere will that impact be felt more, than by those who depend the most on physical currency. SpareChange aims to address these market changes and how they affect those individuals in need. Through our online platform we can offer our campaign participants the ability to collect donations electronically, reducing the barriers of social inhibition or lack of physical currency where it concerns helping out those in need. In addition, our service allows participants to share their story with donors or potential donors. A story that lends them a voice and explains how they plan to utilize the donations, with continuous updates on their progress.
