IYRS School of Technology & Trades is a school in Newport, RI that provides experiential education, preparing students to enter a global maker and manufacturing workforce. IYRS offers a variety of hands-on training programs and industry certification in as little as 6 to 20 months. Career preparation is core to the IYRS experience. Developing skill sets in the shops and classrooms is as critical as developing an informed career path and gaining real-world experience. All IYRS curricula include career planning and a career immersive experience. IYRS programs also incorporate elements of project management, strengthening IYRS graduates’ understanding of cost and material estimates, budgeting, and other business-critical decision-making.
