Since 1981, the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island (JCCGCI) has been committed to delivering compassionate, high-impact social and human services across Southern Brooklyn and throughout New York City. What began as a neighborhood-based effort has grown into a citywide network addressing the diverse needs of older adults, at-risk youth, immigrants, jobseekers, and nonprofits. We offer tailored, community-first solutions that evolve with the unmet needs of the people we serve. JCCGCI is proud to be a trusted resource—often turned to by elected officials and fellow nonprofits—for our ability to respond rapidly and meaningfully to complex social service challenges. Our Five Core Pillars of Compassion: 🏠Older Adult Services – Holistic care for aging New Yorkers, including homecare, transportation, older adult centers, meals on wheels, services for Holocaust Survivors, case management, socialization, friendly visiting, and more. 💼 Career Services – Job training, adult literacy, and internship placements for individuals striving for financial independence. 📚 Educational Services – Academic and social support for students in Brooklyn, including dropout prevention, tutoring, and mentorship. 🏢 Community Services – Programs that strengthen neighborhoods through violence prevention, housing support, transportation, mental health services, and community-based outreach. 🤝 Nonprofit HelpDesk– Our Nonprofit Helpdesk empowers local organizations through strategic capacity-building and operational guidance.
