And 90% don’t complete school – that’s 172 million. The fact that only 10% of our children go on to college saddens us. (Source: Teach for India) Jugaad Labs aims at making a difference in the lives of thousands of Indian kids who are deprived of basic education. The name signifies our vision of major development issues being resolved by small collective efforts. Jugaad Labs is a social enterprise which will act as a special conduit that will promote education in various forms across the poorer sections of the society including orphanages and also by taking night and remedial classes for those in need. Not a revolution but an attempt to make a little difference defines our objective. At Jugaad Labs, we are trying to setup tutoring programs to mentor less fortunate kids and to help them out with their subject specific issues apart from their schooling. Description “Jugaad” (Hindi: जुगाड़) is a unique Hindi word which refers to a practice of getting required results by quick, alternative ways. For us, the choice of the name Jugaad Labs spells out our hope to ease access to collections of study material for reference and start tutoring programs for the base of the pyramid section of society.
