Kafunta Safaris is an owner run safari company operating in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia since 1998. Owners Ron & Anke Cowan have operated for more than 25 years in the Zambian safari industry and their experience and attention to detail enables them to provide an ultimate wilderness safari for their clients. The outstanding safari guides take you into the park on game drives or bush walks where the central location in the Luangwa Valley allows clients to explore the whole region with ease. Island Bush Camp lies under a grove of mahogany trees on the banks of the Luangwa River in the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. This small bush camp offers rustic accommodation in grass and reed huts built on stilts that ensure safety from wild animals and provide an unlimited view of the Luangwa River. The emphasis of the camp is walking safaris and the real African bush experience. Three Rivers Camp is tucked away under the shade of Sausage trees, between the river and a game-rich lagoon. The camp is at the edge of the National Park, at walking distance from sister camp Island Bush Camp, and offers game drives as well as bush walks. The camp features 5 spacious tents, each with its own star bed on an elevated platform! Added in 2023, the Sunset House is a 3-bedroom private safari accommodation at Kafunta River Lodge designed for small groups and families, services come with a dedicated chef, butler and safari guide.
