KAUTE - The Finnish Science Foundation for Technology and Economics supports research in economics and technical sciences. The Foundation's objective is to promote the sustainable renewal of Finnish business and society.
In 2016 to mark the 60th anniversary of its founding the Foundation made a commitment to support the transition towards digital economy. The main goal is to strengthen scientific research focusing on digitalisation – a vital factor for Finnish business – and the related international networks.
KAUTE-säätiö tukee kauppatieteen ja tekniikan opiskelua, opetusta ja tutkimusta. Säätiön tavoitteena on edistää suomalaisen yhteiskunnan ja elinkeinoelämän kestävää uudistumista.
Apurahat ovat KAUTEn keskeisin tapa toteuttaa tarkoitustaan. Säätiö on 2000-luvulla jakanut apurahoja yhteensä noin 8 miljoonaa euroa. Apurahat kohdennetaan pääsääntöisesti lupaaville nuorille tutkijoille kotimaassa ja maailmalla.
Apurahojen lisäksi KAUTE jakaa kannustus- ja tunnustuspalkintoja ja pyrkii synnyttämään tieteeseen perustuvaa keskustelua. Säätiön keskeisiä toimintaperiaatteita ovat avoimuus ja laaja-alainen yhteistyö.
