We believe that all young Australians need a rich creative and cultural life to thrive. We realised that despite Australia’s relative wealth in the world, it doesn’t reach everyone, especially some of our children and young people. Many children and young people in Australia have limited opportunities to regularly experience the awe and wonder of great arts and cultural experiences in the places they live. We know that rich arts and cultural experiences help young people to develop a healthy sense of themselves and their place in the world. It enables them to express themselves in creative and healthy ways, improves learning, grows confidence and self-esteem, improves mental health, as well as enhances personal interactions for better friendships and relationships - it even helps them to get better jobs. At Kindred, we advocate, grow capacity, and connect to give children and young people, especially those experiencing disadvantage, the opportunity to experience a rich creative and cultural life.
