KSEA-ST/Houston, Korean American Scientists and Engineers Association-South Texas/Houston Chapter

KSEA is a non-profit national-level professional organization. It is open for participation to all Korean-Americans who have college degrees in science, engineering, and other related fields and cherish the heritage of Korean culture. KSEA South Texas chapter was established in 1972, one year after KSEA headquarter was established. As one of the oldest local chapters, we have more than 250 members registered in Houston and College Station region. Since its birth in 1972, KSEA South Texas has been recognized as the main representative organization promoting the common interests of Korean-American scientists and engineers toward meeting the following objectives: - Promote the application of science and technology for the general welfare of society; - Foster the cooperation of international science communities especially among the US and Korea; - Serve the majority of Korean-American Scientists and Engineers and help them develop their full career potential. We offer several events during each year, Young Professional Forum, West Gulf Coast Regional Conference, National Mathematics and Science Competition, Member Picnic, Engineering Technical Seminar, Scientist Trainee Meeting, Golf Outing and social networking events. In addition, we host many Young Generation events in student sub-chapters of Texas Medical Center, Texas A&M, University of Houston, and Rice University, to help students to prepare their career and to develop their potential. KSEA particularly welcomes participation from 1.5th Generation, 2nd Generation, and 3rd Generation Korean-American scientists and engineers including the mixed-race and adoptee communities. KSEA promotes helping younger-generation Korean-Americans to be aware of the rapid advances in science and engineering occurring both inside and outside of the US. Especially, it is helping to create opportunities for Young Generation members to interact with talented scientists and engineers in Korea.
