The aim of The Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust is to ensure that long-term, sustainable benefits are achieved within the Kyle of Sutherland community area and throughout Sutherland. The Trust focuses on how best to utilise funding from local wind farms and renewable energy projects, while ensuring all match funding opportunities are identified and secured. A priority of the Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust is to oversee the implementation of the local development plan.
Primary Objectives:
To work with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure the economic health and wellbeing of the community.
To develop a sustainable community development service in the Kyle of Sutherland in an effective and timely manner, whilst also managing a long-term approach to improving the local area.
To strengthen, unite and engage with the local community through a range of projects and activities by:
• Increasing leisure and outdoor activities available to residents and visitors
• Creating employment opportunities
• Developing projects which make a difference to the lives of local people and supporting other local organisations to realise their projects.
