Kyomei is a biotechnology company transforming wasted crop leaves into nature's bio-factories, creating and extracting healthy ingredients for 'clean label', better-for-you foods. We prioritize ingredients that are difficult to get at scale naturally, animal-derived, or increasingly unsustainable, providing the food industry with a scalable supply that meets growing demand. We not only address supply chain challenges for food manufacturers and consumers but also support farmers who face mounting economic and sustainability challenges, adding value to their existing crops without additional pressure on land use. Our vision is to improve existing agricultural systems rather than create entirely new ones. We work closely with farming communities to maximise the value of biomass that is otherwise wasted, shifting from a “one seed, one product” model to a “one seed, multiple products” model. Together, we are building a healthier and more resilient food system by unlocking the potential of existing crops and leaves.
