Lanting reizen is een hecht familiebedrijf. De geschiedenis gaat terug tot 1939 toen Freek Lanting zijn eerste bus kocht. Voor 500 gulden kocht hij een 16 persoons busje. Met het vervoeren van arbeiders naar de ontginningsvelden in Drenthe en later het vervoer naar verschillende fabrieken in opdracht van de gemeente Emmen werd tot ver in de jaren 60 een goede boterham verdient.
