Las Dueñas is a coffee business in the southern zone of Costa Rica managed by three Portuguese women that produces, markets and exports 100% high altitude Arabica coffee directly from the farm and roast on demand to provide to our clients in Costa Rica, USA, Canada and Europe, a single origin, artisanal, exclusive and freshly roasted coffee! Our committed is to reconcile the quality of our coffee with a sustainable agriculture and the protection of the environment, always testing and choosing new methods and products for fertilization and treatment of diseases and pests that are more efficient and environmentally friendly, protecting our water currents, continuously reforesting with native species for shade, to enrich the soil and to protect biodiversity and shelter of many different species of wild animals and also committed with our friendly local community through the hiring of local workers and by participating in the activities of the local Development Association. Our coffee is processed daily in a micro-mill, through a natural process of semi-washing and sundrying in patios, because the grain dries along with the mucilage and absorbs the sugars from the fruit. We offer a medium roast and a dark roast to attract the preferences of the most demanding coffee drinkers. The characteristics of our cup are a dense-bodied coffee on the tongue and the flavors lingers, with a balanced profile of acidity and flavors, exquisitely soft and sweet with touches of nuts/chocolate and sugar cane.
