Overview - Lead2Change (L2C) is the result of exponential growth and a comprehensive needs assessment conducted in the summer of 2009 by founding L2C members, formerly known as the Youth Advisory Council. As stated in the needs assessment by Milwaukee youth, the Greater Milwaukee area was in need of more youth leadership and service opportunities. Since 2011, L2C has endeavored to help fill this gap as a youth leadership organization committed to authentically engaging young people in leadership opportunities that prepare them to be successful leaders in college, their careers, and the community. Our flagship program, Dream.Explore.Build. (D.E.B.), partners with young people to “Live their life by design and not by default.” This is accomplished by a personal commitment to complete 150 hours of training using research-based curriculum and interactive workshops. Upon successful completion, Dream Builders earn a paid six-week internship directly aligned with their career interest. Additionally, every Dream Builder navigating through the program is supported by a career advancement coach. Through D.E.B., Dream Builders explore their dreams, build on their strengths, and help design their future.
