About Latino Education Advancement Foundation
LEAF's purpose is to increase college enrollment and persistence among low-income students attending East San José High Schools; to support systemic reform in the education system and to benefit all low-income students and to increase funding for all schools in East San José. We are currently comprised of four programs that prioritize academic success, parent engagement, and economic mobility for families that are experiencing systemic barriers alongside their first-generation student for the first time. We work to serve the socioeconomically disadvantaged Latino/Hispanic students of East San Jose through our support programming: 1. LEAF Center for College Success 2. LEAF Centro Educativo Para Padres 3. Career Exploration & Discovery 4. Eastside Education Initiative Notable Achievements: Program To Watch for 2023 Examples of Excelencia: Our College Success Program is recognized for its impactful efforts to improve Latino student achievement. CORE Collective Cohort 2023-2025: LEAF joins a cohort of eight organizations with The Education Trust-West’s CORE Collective to advocate for equitable education policies and systemic change. 2023 Scholarship Provider of the Year: Awarded by the National Scholarship Providers Association, this recognition underscores our effective fiscal support and commitment to innovation in promoting postsecondary access and success.
