Learn to Earn is a skills training and job creation not for profit based in Khayelitsha and Hermanus, working with unemployed people from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. With our motto of ‘a hand up - not a hand out’ we seek to develop people especially unemployed people, socially, economically, emotionally and spiritually. Through providing a programme that recognises human dignity and the right to live a meaningful life, we aim to assist individuals to regain their self- respect. Since established in 1989 we have trained over 16 000 unemployed South African in market related skills. Our various initiatives include: the Ground UP Barista Academy, Fashion for Change (a social enterprise focused on the retail sector), 14 market related courses and Zakhele Manufacturing & Design.
