About LegallyBlack®️
LegallyBlack® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in January 2020 with the primary goal of bridging the gap between intellectual property resources and underserved communities. Intellectual Property is a body of law designed to protect and enforce the rights of creators and owners of inventions. Throughout history, the creative work and inventions of people of color have been overlooked, undervalued, and exploited. LegallyBlack’s mission is to empower and educate minorities on the value of intellectual property law protection through education and global engagement. We offer workshops for students (middle school, high school, and college students) and creative groups teaching the basics of intellectual property protection. We strongly believe by pouring into the next generation of creatives, we can contribute to a more informed and protected society.
