Lenzi Lanternes de Paris

The modest « boilermaking-sheet metal-body » company founded in 1933 by Léopold Lenzi leaned towards public lighting 20 years later on the occasion of the great restoration of sites and monuments of Paris. Holder of restoration market of old lanterns choosen by historic sites commission, the company had to manufacture quickly complete sets of lighting. These installations had an immediate success. Champs-Elysées, Opéra avenue, Rivoli’s street, butte Montmartre, Concorde’s square, Marais’s square, Royal palace, etc. At first, a profitable collaboration had been established with the Beaux-Arts administration and EDF. This collaboration determined the first elements of a lights range which became famous. Being in sharp contrast to the mass produce, reconciling for the first time aesthetics and technique, these models are adapted to each circumstance, and can finally solve the difficult problem of harmonious integration of the lighting to the surrounding, even if it is not classified. With the creation of a neologism with previously contradictory terms, Lenzi launched an expression which characterized exactly its activities : style street lighting. The company offers a unique range of products in the world thanks to its « industrial crafts », quality guarantee. Today, our company is the only heir to this unique property in France and abroad. Lenzi is heir of these « lanterns of Paris » whose it as filed the name and heir to the history of street lighting born under Louis XIV, to whom it still makes some templates. It received the EPV status label (« Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant ») in 2014. In 2017, it acquired the Claude Lefebvre catalog, whose prestigious products complete the Lenzi range. Since 2018, Lenzi completes its products range with the urban design, designed by designers.
