We are a research group of the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Nutrition and Food Science, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC).
Several of our members belong to the Cross-disciplinary Research Center in Environmental Technologies (CRETUS). LIDSA is currently formed by 3 Full Professors, 2 postdoc researcher and 4 PhD students.
Our main research lines involve:
- Development of new methodologies for the analysis of cosmetic ingredients and personal care products.
- Evaluation of the bioactive composition and antioxidant potential of agri-food by-products. Obtention and characterization of added value products.
- Environmental applications of new sample preparation techniques based on Green Chemistry and microextraction techniques.
- Development of methodologies for the analysis of priority and emerging pollutants in environmental, agri-food and food samples.
- Photodegradation studies of environmental pollutants. Determination of degradation by-products.
