LIFE Ring

LIFE Ring er et fælles fynsk biodiversitetsprojekt der dækker hele Fyn og Øer. Det skal styrke naturkvaliteten og hjælpe truede og sårbare dyr og planter i og omkring 15 Natura 2000 områder ved Fyn. Naturen kender ikke administrative grænser. Derfor anskues Fyn som én stor fælles natur i projektet. Et strategisk fynsk samarbejde på tværs af kommunegrænser med involvering af alle kommuner er nødvendigt for at styrke biodiversiteten på Fyn og Øer. Udover naturindsatserne til at forbedre habitatforholdene for 17 naturtyper og 16 arter, har projektet til formål at udvikle en langsigtet biodiversitetsstrategi for Fyn, med henblik på bedre forbindelse imellem naturområderne på tværs af den fynske region. Der er ialt 14 partnere i projektet. Faaborg-Midtfyn Kommune leder projektet, der har et samlet budget på 119 millioner kroner. Projektet finansieres via EU's LIFE Program, Aage V. Jensens Naturfond og projektpartnerne. ENGLISH LIFE Ring is a joint biodiversity initiative covering the entire island of Funen. The goal is to enhance nature quality and support endangered and vulnerable animal and plant species in and around 15 Natura 2000 areas at Funen and Islands. Nature does not adhere to administrative boundaries. A key principle of the project is to view Funen as one large, interconnected natural area. A strategic collaboration across municipal borders, involving all municipalities, is essential to strenghten the biodiversity on Funen and Islands. In addition to the nature restoration activities that sets out to improve the habitat conditions for 17 habitat types and 16 species, the project aims to develop a long-term biodiversity strategy for Funen to connect natural areas across the region. There are 14 partners in the project. Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality is leading the project, which has a total budget of 119 million kroner. The project is funded by the EU's LIFE Program, the Aage V. Jensen Nature Foundation and the project partners.
