Lincoln Drill Hall Arts Centre

Lincoln Drill Hall is a thriving arts and community venue and charity in the centre of Lincoln, complete with a flexible 370 seat auditorium that also accommodates a standing audience of 650, a 50 seat studio theatre, vibrant cafe bar, rehearsal spaces and meeting rooms. Since launching in 2004, the Drill Hall has become a key cultural hub for the city and county, delivering an extensive programme of events and activity for a wide range of audiences and communities and attracting over 150,000 visitors annually. Lincoln Drill Hall’s incredibly diverse live arts programme includes theatre, comedy, music, dance, family events, talks, spoken word events, classes, workshops, free events and a spectacular Christmas pantomime. The venue also hosts the annual Lincoln Beer Festival and jointly hosts Lincoln's Children’s Festival, Lincoln Comedy Festival and Frequency festival of digital arts. The Drill Hall’s range of spaces and facilities makes a perfect city centre location for business meetings, conferences, training events, exhibitions, fashion shows, corporate hospitality, balls and private parties. We do this in our venue and elsewhere in partnership with other organisations whose ambitions match ours.’ BUILDING HISTORY Lincoln’s Drill Hall was built in 1890 and for the first part of the 20th Century was used as a military & police training hall. Over the course of the 20th century the building moved into public use, hosting dances, wrestling, bingo and live bands, most notably The Rolling Stones in 1963. The Grade II listed building was reconfigured and refurbished in 2003 and reopened as Lincoln Drill Hall in 2004, an arts centre for the city and county.
