LowCarbUSA® was formed with the intention of raising the profile of real scientific research in the field of nutrition to the medical community as well as the public at large. This is achieved by hosting large scientific conferences where this research is presented and discussed engaging in extensive traditional media and social media campaigns to maximise the exposure.
The organisation's most important initiative now is getting a Standard of Care established for therapeutic carbohydrate restriction. Early in May 2019 we published our 'Clinical Guidelines for the Prescription of Carbohydrate Restriction as a Therapeutic Intervention'. The actual SoC is less tangible as the legal definition defines it as a consensus amongst practitioners so our efforts to encourage these conversations to settle on a consensus over time is ongoing.
We are also involved in advocacy efforts to lobby congress for changes in the USDA dietary guidelines and for changes in the training for doctors and medical personnel on the real consequences of diet on health.
A coaching course has been created to provide information and mentoring for those who are intent on embracing the Low Carbohydrate Lifestyle.
