Lubdhok/লুব্ধক (Sirius in Bangla, the brightest star in the night sky) is a community-driven group dedicated to providing support, resources, and a safe space for South Asian men in Canada. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by men from South Asian backgrounds, Lubdhok aims to foster a sense of belonging, promote mental health awareness, and address issues such as cultural expectations, societal pressures, and discrimination.
As a community congregation focused on positive masculinities, we believe in empowering South Asian men to embrace healthy and equitable relationships. We advocate for men's active participation in achieving gender equality and challenge traditional stereotypes that can limit their potential. We also organize Support Groups where South Asian men can share experiences on topics such as mental health, positive fatherhood, intimate partner violence, positive masculinities, and cultural identity to connect with others and find support in a welcoming environment.
Through our various initiatives, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where South Asian men can connect, learn, grow, and thrive. We believe that by fostering a sense of community and providing essential resources, we can help South Asian men overcome challenges, build stronger relationships, and contribute meaningfully to society.
