Lyford Cay Foundations

Established in 1969 by Lyford Cay Club members, Lyford Cay Foundations was created as a vehicle through which to support the people of The Bahamas. Lyford Cay Foundation, Inc. is a registered 501c3 charity in the USA. The Canadian Lyford Foundation is a charitable receipting entity registered in Toronto, Canada. Over the past five decades, with staffed based operations in New Providence, the Foundations have evolved in scope, programming, professionalisation, and mission. OUR VISION: Every Bahamian is empowered to reach his or her full potential. OUR MISSION: Investing in learning opportunities for Bahamian children, families, young adults and communities who will benefit from them the most. Lyford Cay Foundations does this by providing programming in college preparation and access as well as by community building through funding non-profits who offer educational opportunities. Programmes include: • FOCUS: An out-of-school time enrichment programme aimed at college readiness and access for students of demonstrated potential and need. • Cutillas Scholars: College preparation and full scholarships for public school students to attend either The University of The Bahamas or The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute. • Scholarships: Partial awards to qualified Bahamian high-school graduates for post-secondary study internationally and nationally. • Grants: Small grants to Bahamian non-profits who are dedicated to the transformative power of life-long learning. Lyford Cay Foundations is generously supported by donors — like-minded individuals, corporations and private grant-making organisations — to carry out our work of transforming lives through education.
