The Macromolecules & Colloids for Sustainable Materials Group at ICMUV conducts research on the design, synthesis, and characterization of various types of polymeric and colloidal materials, including bio-based polymers, organic-inorganic hybrid systems, and conductive polymers. We also study the preparation and application of microscopic and nanoscopic particles and capsules, both organic and inorganic, as well as hybrids. Additionally, we develop hybrid materials and nanocomposites based on lignocellulosic biomass components, emphasizing the importance of the interface in the compatibility of phases of different natures. Currently, we are involved in research projects funded by national and international organizations. Besides research activities, our group is also dedicated to the training of students and young researchers.
