We believe that democratized technology and do-it-yourself culture of the Maker Movement disrupts every industry and creates countless opportunities for people of all kinds to grow sustainable businesses. Our community exists to nurture startups and innovators with access to resources, including physical space, equipment, infrastructure, democratized financing tools, as well as educational and inspiring events.
Makervillage is the economic gardening instrument of Northwest Georgia.
While economic development efforts traditionally focus on recruitment of large employers to a region, economic gardening works from the ground up focused on creating employers from within the community through entrepreneurship and artisan productivity. Rather than seeking one employer of 1,000, we are working to create 100 employers of ten.
