IT ALL BEGAN 50 YEARS AGO AT THE DOOR OF THE SANCTUARY OF FATIMA The history of Manulena began 50 years ago when Manuel Pedro Custódio, a determined and ambitious man, started cycling to churches and to the Sanctuary of Fatima in order to sell religious candles that he produced. The business grew quickly over the ensuing years and expanded into making decorative items as well. More recently cosmetics have been added to the portfolio that includes bath, body, and skincare products. Right from the outset the company has grown in a sustainable way with allround high standards of excellence and a determination to produce quality products. Due to this it was only a matter time before the export market grew that incorporated some of the best international brands. The United kKingdom, Spain, France, Germany, and the United States represent approximateley 60% of turnover. New overseas markets are being added regularly as the Manulena position of excellence expands around the world. One of our objectives is continual investment in our technology and our staff. We pride ourselves on our knowledge and experience in designing and building our own unique machinery in order to keep us at the forefront of manufacturing. We believe in creating new machinery to aid our growth ambitions, maintain and improve our product offering, and to further expand our global presence since we made our first candle 50 years ago.
