Mark Dickens is an independent retail and shopper marketing consultant, advisor, interim manager and executive mentor, best known for developing 'Every little helps' for Tesco in 2002. He is an insightful retail, marketing and mentoring professional and a motivational leader with a knack of understanding what makes people tick, how they behave and what they ‘really’ believe in. His skill lies in looking at life from the customer’s perspective by channelling human behaviour into commercial logic and by using a common sense ethos to build loyalty and generate sales. Over the past 20 years he has been involved in some of the most emulated benchmark initiatives in UK retail and become an authority in the grocery sector. Dickens is an author, columnist and a regular feature writer in the trade press and a retail commentator in the broadsheets and on BBC radio. Dickens is an executive mentor, a conflict resolution arbitrator and professional trainer in core skills, influencing, marketing, communications, media, CSR and stakeholder engagement. He has also lectured at universities up to postgraduate level and was an external examiner at Brunel Universtity from 1995 -1997.
