Malaysian Actuarial Student Association (MASA)

Founded in October 2018, the Malaysian Actuarial Student Association (MASA) has been actively developing actuarial science students’ potential in Malaysia and empowering them to be the next generation of actuarial leaders. As of January 2022, MASA gathers over 900 members from both public and private universities nationwide. MASA has also affiliated with actuarial societies from 11 universities in Malaysia. Our Vision We strive to unite actuarial science students across Malaysia and empower them to be technically capable, equipped with industrial awareness and actively involved in the actuarial industry. Our Mission To represent the voice of actuarial science students in Malaysia. To provide a platform for members to learn, discuss and act upon issues related to the profession. To provide educational and industrial support. To create a networking platform with working professionals and peers from other universities. Our Slogan Learn and strive as one to make the greatest impact. We distinguish ourselves as the only body that unites and represents the voice of all actuarial science students in Malaysia. Students require good industrial exposure and technical capabilities during the transition to the professional actuarial industries. In MASA, we strive to bring affordable professional standard actuarial programs to students, thus creating an ecosystem which enables students to become the leaders to make an impact in the society. Our Past Events In 2019, our events had high student participation rates, with the support of companies and working professionals. We successfully organised the first ever actuarial conference and career fair for students in September 2019, with over 20 companies and 500 students involved. Along the year, we also organised several talks and academy sessions at university level, which received overwhelming responses from the student community.
