MAS ETH in Housing

Since 1992/93 ETH Wohnforum – ETH CASE of the Department of Architecture offers postgraduate studies in architecture. The MAS ETH in Housing was launched in 2004/05. In 2016, under the new leadership of Prof. Hubert Klumpner, Prof. Christian Schmid and Dr. Jennifer Duyne Barenstein, the programme has been updated. It is committed to contribute to finding solutions to the housing challenges in Switzerland, Europe, as well as in low- and middle-income countries globally through multi-disciplinary training and high-level research. The MAS focuses on assessing the housing challenges and on the viability, effectiveness and sustainability of a wide range of housing and neighbourhood development strategies pursued by communities, cooperatives, local governments, nongovernmental-and governmental agencies, and international organisations in different countries and contexts. The MAS ETH in Housing accepts each year 10-12 qualified candidates. It is primarily, but not exclusively, oriented to professionals with a background in architecture, urban planning or urban design, but is also open to candidates from other disciplines with an interest in housing.
