Mastaplex was born out of the thriving Agritech sector that has helped New Zealand’s dairy industry to become one of the most innovative globally. Led by Dr Olaf Bork, the company is on a mission to revolutionize veterinary point-of-care diagnostics. Our first product is Mastatest, an automated on-farm diagnostic for bovine mastitis. Mastatest can identify the presence of bacteria, its species, and antibiotic sensitivity, all within 24hr. Importantly Mastatest is simple and easy to incorporate for the farmer. Farmers tell us Mastatest improves milk productivity and farm profitability. Vets tell us Mastatest is a valuable tool to support their work to improve mastitis management on-farm, and inform the prudent use of antibiotics.
