MeTooMining will advocate for strong programs and policies against intimidation, gender discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual violence in the workplace, and ensure workers are provided avenues for reporting that are effective and include, Clear policy on investigation procedures so that privacy and security are assured, Access to an outside agency when senior management or board members are involved, Ensure a safe and secure workplace for all workers. MeTooMining will advocate for effective educational presentations, discussions and activities for all employees so that it is clear sexual harassment/violence will not be tolerated, Uniform understanding of behaviors and actions that constitute sexual harassment in the workplace, Discussions should be included in daily Health & Safety talks and introductory safety talks before meetings, Employees should be offered regular training in Bystander Intervention strategies. MeTooMining wants to establish a knowledge database on this website that will include, access to studies, reports and data on sexual violence/harassment, bystander intervention, gender and gender cultures, A page dedicated to reporting options for complaints of sexual harassment in the workplace (listed by country), A page dedicated to finding options for support and healing, MeTooMining identifies that more research and data collection is needed on the extent and impact of sexual violence/harassment in the mining and mineral exploration industries and communities.
