MEDITERRA WINERY is based in Kounavi, a village that lies at the heart of the Appellation zone of Peza in Crete. Mediterra produces wine from the island’s indigenous grape varieties since 1973, with knowledge and passion. The company's effort is to bring out the special characteristics of international varieties and exploit the viniculture potential of Crete.
The name of the village where the winery is situated is a great proof of the long winemaking tradition, since it is directly related to the historical wine-presses “Kanaves” that are found on the islands of the Archipelago.
MEDITERRA WINERY distributes wine not only in Greece, but in 25 countries all over the world. Mediterra's product line has been awarded in domestic as well as in international wine competitions. The terroir of the vineyards selected, along with the certification by four quality systems - from vineyard to the final products - guarantee that every bottle of wine holds its unique flavor.
