Medjeduse is a groundbreaking startup emerging from cutting-edge research at CNRS’s "Axonal Regeneration and Growth" team, focused on spinal cord repair. Unlike exoskeletons and brain interfaces that address symptoms without solving the root cause, we tackle spinal cord injuries directly. Our approach aims to provide a true solution for recovery rather than working around the problem. The need for effective spinal cord injury treatment is immense, with injuries leading to emergency hospitalizations, deaths, and chronic disabilities (paraplegia, tetraplegia), across all ages. Currently, there are no therapeutic solutions beyond long-term physical rehabilitation. Each year, 30,000 new cases arise in the USA and Europe, with a global lifetime cost of €70 billion. Our solution is a bioscaffold that promotes spinal cord repair through our pioneering biomaterial. It has shown remarkable success in preclinical trials, enabling rats to regain the ability to walk and demonstrating unprecedented nerve regeneration and mobility recovery.
