MedLumos is a social enterprise that aims at redefining rural healthcare access, with a vision of becoming a community driven, comprehensive, primary healthcare provider to the rural population leveraging the potential of telemedicine. Currently most of the healthcare infrastructure is located in urban India while the majority of population lives in rural India. While the Pandemic has democratised healthcare access through the maturing of telemedicine. However, the penetration of telemedicine in rural India is still dismal due to the digital divide as well as the cultural mores associated with seeking healthcare. Our core activity is the setting up of a comprehensive community based rural telemedicine network providing quality primary healthcare, basic investigations, reliable medicines and a robust triaging and referral system at an affordable price. Our model is built around empowered community health workers in the villages connected to a network of doctors in nearby urban centres. Our Telemedicine platform integrates Video conferencing, EMRs and peripherals like a Pulse /BP monitor/ECG/Foetoscope/ Digital stethoscope and also has POC basic laboratory investigations integrated in it. The founder & CEO Dr Aradhana Sood has over two decades of experience in healthcare delivery in the Armed Forces Medical Services with expertise in delivering healthcare in resource constrained setting. We wish to partner with like minded doctors, , grass roots organisations, community leaders and individuals to build a sustainable model for rural healthcare delivery.
