MedQuist was the largest publicly traded medical transcription and healthcare document management services company in the world with roughly 10,000 employees. (MedQuist subsequently was taken private by SAC Capital Partners. acquired M*Modal, assumed the M*Modal name and was sold to One Equity Partners, JP Morgan's private equity arm. In 2019 M*Modal was acquired by 3M Healthcare for $1 billion.)
