Post that his extended family worked closely with De Beers to acquire diamonds, polish them and then distribute them not only in India but also across Europe including Belgium. Viniit’s father Dr. Shailesh Mehta is one of Mumbai’s pre-eminent cardiologists and mother, Mrs. Suneeta Mehta is a leading psychotherapist. Viniit, himself is a pioneer in the video streaming industry in India having run and sold his first startup which was streaming video and advertisements on screens at the back of taxis in urban India starting in the early days of 3G in 2011. Fast forward to 2017 and Viniit led the world’s largest video SaaS company Brightcove in India helping more than 100+ publishers, broadcasters, e-commerce giants, sports rights holders and startups leverage the best of streaming technologies, monetization and content distribution strategies. Currently, he advises several leading media and media tech companies including the likes of Endeavor Streaming, IMG and a few more. All along a dynamic 20+ year career which started in the United States and continues today between Dubai and Mumbai, Viniit and his family have invested in, mentored and supported several startups across Media tech, Health tech, e-commerce, Fintech, Prop Tech, AI and more.
