The first-of-its-kind youth-led organisation that focuses on the marine conservation and
climate action movement within the Middle East and North Africa region. MENAeco recognizes the
underrepresentation of the MENA region in global climate discussions and policies despite climate
change inflaming extremism and instability in the most vulnerable countries to the ocean and climate
crisis that are located in the region. MENAeco will kickstart a bold initiative to advance the discussion
of underrepresented issues that are prominent in the MENA region, including the lack of youth
representation, ocean literacy, desertification, water scarcity, and the disproportionate reliance on
fossil fuels.
