Mental health is life. I’m a General Practitioner (Family Doctor) and I love helping people understand their story, why they have difficulties, and how we can work together to go about solving them. I’ve helped 1000s of people with Mental Health problems, and I’ve come to learn that those that do best are able to make long-term sustained changes to themselves, their mindset and their lifestyle. I’ve learned that there are certain things that give people a much better chance of regaining control of their lives and wellbeing. By taking the time to help people fully understand their situation, supporting them to make those initial changes, and measuring improvement, I’ve been amazed at some of the improvements made. I’ve also had my own personal experiences of Burnout, Depression and Anxiety, which give me real insight into people’s difficulties. I’ve also used Lifestyle Medicine on myself, and was shocked at the improvement it made to how I felt. In fact this is probably the best I’ve felt all of my adult life. I’ve recently improved my skillset in this area by undertaking a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine, understanding how areas such as food, movement, stress and sleep all play a role in becoming unwell, and how they can be used as tools to heal.
