About META-MUSEUM Project

Coordinated by the Politecnico di Torino the META-MUSEUM is an EU funded Horizon Europe project that aims to revolutionize the way cultural heritage and museum experiences are designed, interpreted, and shared. By integrating digital innovation, participatory methodologies, and transformative storytelling, the project seeks to create more inclusive, engaging, and accessible museums for diverse audiences, including traditionally underrepresented groups. At its core, META-MUSEUM challenges the traditional role of museums as static institutions and instead fosters dynamic, user-driven interactions with cultural heritage. The project introduces innovative tools and strategies to empower citizens to co-create and reinterpret heritage narratives, fostering empathy, confidence, and resilience in the face of societal challenges. The project involves 14 partners (including the Egyptian Museum of Turin) from 10 countries. The aim is to study, also with the support of the neuroscientific method, the relationship between cognitive and emotional responses when faced with cultural heritage, in order to increase citizens' awareness, resilience and confidence. The project will last three years and involves 14 partners (including the Egyptian Museum of Turin) from 10 European countries: Italy, France, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain and Sweden.
