Metaltech's history goes back to 1973 when the original company was founded in Chard, Somerset. We moved to our current premises in 1999. Since then, the factory has been extended 5 times from 21,000 square feet to our current 50,000 square feet facility. Total manufacturing has been the ethos of Metaltech Precision Ltd as the extensive plant list illustrates. CNC Turning, CNC Milling & 5 Axis Machining all coupled with automated loading systems enables us to be competitive on virtually any batch size & in any material. Alongside this, Grinding, Fabricating, Shotblasting, Painting, Assembly and Testing are all used to back up this service. We are as comfortable with a 5 tonne fabrication as we are with a batch of high precision 3mm diameter parts machined on our sliding heads. Metaltech prides itself on its ‘Investment in People’ culture which is backed up by OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety accreditation. Our company believes in an ongoing commitment to training and developing of its staff, enabling us to offer best practices as well as adhering to all accreditations that we hold and are working towards. Our low cost base & extensive facility in rural Somerset, alongside our strong balance sheet makes Metaltech the ideal partner for your resourcing or reshoring requirements. We will even design & install dedicated CNC machining cells to produce your parts with no risks to your supply & at fixed costs. This coupled with our year on year capital expenditure on CNC equipment helps to keep us at the forefront of UK Precision Engineering subcontract manufacture. In January 2021 Metaltech was acquired by Expromet Technologies Group, a privately owned foundry group that also owns Investacast, a leading investment casting business and Haworth Castings, an aluminium sand and gravity-die castings foundry. Expromet harnesses the capabilities of a group of complementary casting and machining businesses to deliver world class engineering solutions.
